Our mission is to be an open gathering place to
nurture Christians in training who, equipped by the Holy Spirit, go into
the world and share the light of Jesus Christ.
The Lord's Table at
Holston Annual Conference 2009
at Lake Junaluska, N.C.
June 28, 2009 4th Sunday after Pentecost
The Rev. Carol Wilson, who is
currently serving as Maryville District
Superintendent, will be bringing the message this
Sunday. Wilson served Wesley Memorial and Piney
Flats UMC in the Johnson City District, as well as
Pleasant Hill UMC/Blount County in Maryville District.
Pastor Buzz is on vacation with his
family and he is certain you will not want to miss
this message.
What If ...
"What if church was
less about Sunday, and more about the other days of the
week?"
"What if church
wasn't just a place to go, but something we do?"
"What if church
wasn't just a building, but thousands of doors, each
opening up to a different concept or experience of church?
"What if there was
a church like that near me?"

What's happening in The Meadow ...
United Methodist Men's Breakfast: OK, it's not
just for men anymore; in fact, it's not been just for men
for several years now. If you haven't caught Bill West's
mighty-good breakfast ... well, you've just missed
the best free thing in life outside of grace. It's on
the table at 8 o'clock the second Sunday of each month!
School of
Hope: This mission to young parents and
parents-to-be who have withdrawn from school due to early
pregnancy is preparing to open its doors for the fourth year. If you are able to help financially, e-mail
Linda
Daugherty, SOH coordinator.
The Potter's
House UMC:
Dr. Tony Collins provides the following link to a blog

made on our newest mission congregation: thepottershouse-umc.blogspot.com.
Tony says, "I encourage you
to subscribe to the blog and you will automatically
receive an e-mail each time the blog is updated. We are
very excited about how the work is coming. However, we are
in need of lots of help. ... We have work for skilled and
non-skilled laborers. Please call me at 865-805-4184, or
e-mail me at tonycollins@bellsouth.net
to let me know that you are coming."
